Following the successful launch of the PERUN project in October 2025, the PERUN consortium held its second in-person meeting in Bucharest, Romania. We appreciate the excellent hosting provided by our partners, RoEduNet and RevelSI.
The PERUN project has achieved solid and steady progress over the past months. These advancements are a direct result of the great organisation, planning, and the efforts demonstrated by both the project leadership and all contributing partners. Four academic papers have been successfully approved and published, and several other publications are currently passing through review processes. Furthermore, the consortium has maintained a high level of activity, expressed during distributed work performed in small teams, by preparing and submitting the first deliverables in time, completing the first tasks and in holding multiple project-wide meetings. These sessions proved valuable platforms for presenting new ideas and reviewing the current status to the entire consortium, especially with the "Tool-Fest" held in late March, where each partner provided an update on their respective developments and progress.
This combination of robust progress, seen in the development of tools and publications, along with dedicated external communications has been effective. Initiatives such as the regularly updated LinkedIn page, which has seen good engagement, and the development of a comprehensive, living website, showcase our commitment to transparency and outreach. Collectively, these efforts establish a strong operational base, resulting in achievements within the first six months of the project's timeline.
With PERUN set to continue until September 2028, the project structure is well-managed. Our meeting in Bucharest highlighted the next steps with a focus on finishing pilot definitions, architecture specification, continuation of technical development and scientific research
